EP 294 | Losing Weight From An Energetic Perspective

WITH ANDREA CRISP

But the one thing I keep coming back to over and over again is that I am making this a priority in my life. I am making a commitment to myself, for myself. This is not for another person. This is for me.

My struggle with my weight has always been a topic of conversation I wanted to avoid having, let alone share on the podcast. For as long as I can remember I have felt an immense amount of shame about my size and held on to this belief that I would never truly be loved or successful until I weighed a certain amount or looked a certain way.

When the scale hit 200 llbs I thought to myself that it was time for me to get down to business and shed the weight. But instead of losing, I spiraled into a toxic diet culture and started experiencing even more destructive thoughts about my body. In the end, I ended up gaining an additional twelve lbs.

On my 49th birthday (this past October) I felt a prompting to start living differently. To step into a new way of being in every area of my life. And I knew that one of the first things I would need to address was my struggle with my weight -- on a physical, energetic, and emotional level. And in theory, I knew what needed to happen but I felt so ill-equipped to handle it on my own.

As we continue in the Authentically Me Series I am sharing what I have been learning as I unpack the layers of what has kept me in a struggle with my body and my weight for years. And what I have been doing to let go of those old ways of being.

This journey is one that is ongoing and in no way am I close to being where I want to be. And I definitely not an expert in the matter. However, I wanted to share what has been working for me, and how I am approaching my weight loss journey from a place of compassion, love, and acceptance.
