Trusting My Own Rhythm

A BIRTHDAY Q&A

What happens when I set the script aside and let the conversation unfold?

In this candid birthday episode of The Soul Aligned Podcast, I turn 52 and answer questions about life, work, creativity, and what I’m learning along the way. I reflect on changing my routines with the seasons, making more space for rest, and trusting myself when plans shift.

I also share what I learned from cancelling a group program, why I’m thinking about leading with more intention, and how I’m learning that my presence can be enough. Along the way, I talk about the podcasts and shows I’m enjoying, a recent gathering with singers, meaningful conversations at my first Soul Spa Day, and what I’d like to explore on the podcast next.

I close with news about another Soul Spa Day planned for November, plus ways to work with me through Human Design readings and one-on-one coaching.

If you've ever felt like the way you used to talk about your life, your business, or yourself no longer fits, this episode names exactly why that shift feels so disorienting — and so necessary. Andrea speaks candidly about the fear that comes with evolving out loud: the fear of disappointing people, of losing approval, of no longer fitting into spaces that once felt like home. She shares how leaning into that discomfort, rather than avoiding it, has been part of her own soul's evolution.

  • Looking forward to time with family, Thanksgiving, and an unscheduled weekend

  • A small win: encouraging conversations among a group of singers

  • What cancelling a group program taught me about trust and changing course

  • Making more room for space, rest, and presence

  • Rethinking the urge to add more to my offers

  • Leading with intention and listening to my own inner guidance

  • The questions I keep asking: “How can I serve better?” and “What feels right for me?”

  • The conversations and connection at my first Soul Spa Day

  • My upcoming Soul Spa Day in November

LETTING THE CONVERSATION UNFOLD

I usually prepare a script or a set of bullet points for the show. For this episode, I chose a different approach: answering questions and seeing what emerged in the moment.

As I shared, I noticed how much I enjoy speaking freely. I’m curious whether a more spontaneous format might help me show up with greater ease. It’s a reminder that creative work can change shape—and that trying something new can help me discover what feels most natural.

CREATING SEASONAL RHYTHMS

As summer gives way to fall, I’m changing how I structure my days. Instead of expecting one routine to work all year, I’m adjusting my schedule with the season: when I work out, when I focus on my business, and when I make time for podcast planning, writing, or social media.

Changing my routines helps me keep things fresh and pay attention to what I need now. I’m also looking forward to time with family, Thanksgiving, and a weekend with nothing on the calendar—a chance to slow down after a busy stretch.

TRUSTING MYSELF WHEN PLANS CHANGE

One of my reflections comes from a group program I planned during the summer. I felt like I should run it, but I didn’t feel truly compelled to move forward. Just before it began, I cancelled it and had to adjust the plans I’d made around the launch.

That experience brought me back to trust: listening when something doesn’t feel aligned, even when changing course is inconvenient. I also notice how easily I can overthink what to add to my offers. Sometimes my strongest contribution is simply showing up, being present, and doing the work.

LEADING WITH INTENTION

I’ve been thinking about what makes leadership impactful. One insight from a recent conversation was the importance of doing things intentionally: giving my attention to what I’m doing instead of trying to do everything at once.

When I’m facing a leadership decision, I try to get quiet and listen before asking everyone else what they think. Other people’s input can be useful, but I want to first ask myself what feels right. Often, that’s the answer I return to in the end.

A question I come back to often is: How can I serve better and more intentionally? For me, the answer involves finding ways to express who I am while helping others.
