Becoming Safe
TO BE SEEN
What if the reason you keep hiding isn’t because you lack confidence—but because being seen feels vulnerable?
In this episode of The Soul Aligned Podcast, we’re using tapping (EFT) to work with the fear of rejection, visibility, and the limiting belief that “it’s safer to stay unseen than to risk being rejected.”
If you’ve ever put yourself out there, shared your voice, made an offer, showed up online, or allowed yourself to be vulnerable—only to suddenly want to pull back—this episode is for you.
WHEN BEING SEEN FEELS UNSAFE
Sometimes we consciously want to be more visible, but another part of us is still trying to protect us from rejection, judgment, disappointment, or not being chosen.
You might notice yourself:
Putting yourself out there and then hiding again
Overthinking after sharing something vulnerable
Pulling back after taking a courageous step
Second-guessing yourself or your decisions
Waiting until you feel “ready” before becoming visible
Worrying about what other people will think
Avoiding sharing your work, gifts, or offers
Feeling like you need to do more inner work before you can move forward
These patterns can look like self-sabotage, but they may actually be protective patterns rooted in your nervous system and old limiting beliefs.
The goal isn't to force yourself to become fearless.
The goal is to develop the capacity to be seen without abandoning yourself.
TAPPING FOR FEAR OF REJECTION AND VISIBILITY
In this guided EFT tapping practice, we’ll work with the belief:
“It’s safer to stay unseen than to risk being rejected.”
Rather than trying to immediately replace the belief with a positive affirmation, we first acknowledge the part of you that learned to hide.
Because there may have been a time when hiding, staying quiet, people-pleasing, or making yourself smaller actually helped you feel safe.
Tapping allows us to meet that protective response with compassion while creating space for a new possibility:
I can be seen and still be safe within myself.
WHAT WE EXPLORE IN THIS PRACTICE
During this guided tapping session, you'll be invited to work with:
Fear of rejection
Fear of being seen
Vulnerability and visibility
Limiting beliefs
Self-doubt and overthinking
The fear of not being chosen
Hiding and pulling back after showing up
Nervous system safety
Self-trust
Staying connected to yourself when you're vulnerable
Allowing yourself to take up space
Becoming more comfortable with visibility
This EFT tapping for fear of rejection practice is an invitation to stop fighting the part of you that wants to hide and instead understand what it's trying to protect.
THE DEEPER PATTERN BEHIND HIDING
You may want to be seen.
You may want to share your gifts.
You may want to grow your business.
You may want to speak your truth.
And yet, when you actually become visible, something inside you says:
Wait. This is too vulnerable.
So you pull back.
You hide.
You overthink.
You question yourself.
And eventually, you feel stuck again.
This can create a cycle of:
Desire → visibility → vulnerability → fear → retreat → hiding → frustration → desire to be seen again.
Inner work isn't about judging yourself for this pattern.
It's about becoming aware of it.
And then learning that you can feel vulnerable without abandoning yourself.
A NEW RELATIONSHIP WITH VISIBILITY
You don't have to convince yourself that rejection doesn't hurt.
You don't have to become completely confident before you show up.
You don't have to know how everyone will respond.
You can learn to trust yourself enough to say:
I can feel the fear and still choose myself.
I can feel vulnerable and still stay present.
I can be seen and still belong to myself.
That is the deeper work of self-trust and soul alignment.
SOUL REFLECTION
After listening to this episode, take a moment to reflect:
Where in my life am I repeating a pattern of putting myself out there and then hiding again?
And ask yourself:
What am I afraid will happen if I allow myself to be fully seen?
Then go one layer deeper:
Can I let myself be seen without abandoning myself when I don't know how I'm going to be received?
You don't have to have all the answers.
Just notice what comes up.

Welcome back to the Soul Align podcast. In the last episode, we talked about the patterns that we
can find ourselves repeating, even when we've done a lot of the inner work. One of the patterns we
explored was when we put ourselves out there, when we become visible and allow ourselves to be
seen, suddenly we feel vulnerable. We want to pull back and isolate. And maybe you found yourself
doing this. Maybe you have decided that it's time for you to step forward and you start posting and
then you want to offer something, but then you question yourself and you isolate and you take that
step back. Or maybe you decide that you need to work on yourself a little bit more before you try
again. But underneath all of this is a pattern. Maybe it's a belief that says it is safer to be
unseen than it is to risk being rejected. So today we're going to do some tapping around that.
If you've never done tapping or emotional freedom technique, then you can follow along.
If you're watching this on YouTube, then you're going to be able to watch. But if you're listening
on the podcast, that's okay, because I'm actually going to guide you through verbally by telling
you what we're going to do. And sometimes even though we understand a pattern logically,
our body is still holding on to that belief. And EFT can give us a way to acknowledge what's here
without forcing ourselves to immediately think positively or change our mindset.
It allows us to feel safe to embody this new belief. So I invite you wherever you are,
allow yourself to get comfortable. If you're sitting down, allow yourself just to ground into the
space. take a breath and be here in this moment.
You don't have to make anything happen. We're simply going to meet the part of you that has learned
that being seen might not be safe. And we're going to remind that part of you that she doesn't have
to disappear to protect herself anymore. So I invite you to take a nice deep breath all the way to
your belly, a big exhale, and
let's begin.
I just invite you to find yourself in this moment, grounded,
present, fully available to what wants to come through for you today.
Not trying to move anything faster than it needs to, but we're going to begin by tapping on the
karate chop point, nice and firmly. And as we're doing the tapping today,
I encourage you to continue to breathe. the entire time.
So as you are tapping the karate chop point, repeat after me.
Even though part of me believes it's safer to stay unseen than risk being rejected,
I'm willing to meet this part of me with compassion.
Taking a nice deep breath in and release.
And one more time, even though part of me believes that it's safer To stay unseen than risk being
rejected. I'm willing to meet this part of me with compassion.
Moving to the top of the eyebrow. It's safer to hide.
Side of the eye. If they don't see me, they can't reject me.
Under the eye.
If I put myself out there.
Under the eye. If I put myself out there, I can't be disappointed.
Under the nose. If
I stay small, I'm protected.
Under the mouth.
Part of me is afraid of being seen.
Under the collarbone. Part of me is afraid of being judged.
Under the arm.
Part of me is afraid of being chosen.
And the top of the head. And I can feel that.
Take a nice deep breath.
Just notice what your body is feeling in this moment.
You don't have to change it. Just notice what's coming up for you. Now
we're going to tap through the sequence again. Top of the eyebrow. Maybe the sphere has been with
me a long time.
Side of the eye.
Maybe hiding helped me feel safe once.
Under the eye. Maybe pulling back protected me from rejection.
Under the nose. Maybe I learned that being fully myself came with a cost.
Maybe I learned to make myself smaller
under the collarbone. Maybe I learned
to wait until it felt safe enough.
Maybe I learned to disappear when I felt vulnerable in the top of the head.
And I have compassion for that part of me.
Hand on your heart, hand on your belly, and take a nice deep breath in through the nose and
out through the mouth.
Now we're going to create space for something that's new. For more expansion.
Top of the eyebrow. What if I don't have to hide anymore?
Side of the eye. What if I can be seen and still be safe?
Under the eye. What if I can feel vulnerable without pulling away from myself?
Under the nose. What if someone else's response doesn't determine my worth?
Under the mouth. What if rejection doesn't mean something is wrong with me?
Under
the collarbone, what if someone saying something doesn't mean I shouldn't have shown up?
Under the arm. What if I can let people see me without abandoning myself?
Top of the head. What if I can stay connected to myself while being visible?
Nice deep breath in and release.
Let's really bring this into the body. Taking a nice deep breath in all the way to the belly and
releasing. Creating more expansion in your body now. The top of the eyebrow.
I'm allowed to take up space.
Corner of the eye, I am allowed to be seen.
Underneath the eye, I'm allowed to speak my truth.
Under the nose, I'm allowed to share what I have to offer.
Under the mouth, I don't have to know how everyone will respond.
Under the collarbone, I don't have to be chosen by everyone.
Under the arm, I only need to remain true to myself. And the top of the head.
And I can trust myself to handle what comes.
And let's just create a little bit more expansion. Top of the eyebrow. I can be visible without
performing.
Side of the eye. I can be vulnerable without abandoning myself.
Under the eye. I can be seen without needing anyone's approval.
Under the nose. I can let myself. Be fully me.
Under the mouth and I can trust my inner knowing.
Under the collarbone, even when I don't know the outcome.
Under the arm, it is safe to be seen. And then at the top of the head,
it is safe to be fully myself.
Now just take a nice deep breath in through the nose and
release. And let's just pause for a moment and notice your body.
Notice what is coming up for you or how you feel different now about being seen.
Notice that there's just even one more percent of space.
And you can go through this as many times as you need to. This isn't about forcing yourself to
believe something that your body isn't ready to believe. But it's about building that capacity,
creating that capacity in a relationship with yourself. in your body,
in a relationship where you don't have to disappear just because you are being vulnerable.
You're sharing your truth. You're sharing your story. You're opening up. You're being visible,
whether it's in a community, whether it's with a person, whether it's online.
And friend, you don't have to abandon yourself because there may be people who don't understand you
because truth be told, there will be people who don't understand you.
You can still Choose yourself, even if you have fear.
You can still be vulnerable and stay present in your body.
You can still be seen and belong to yourself.
And most importantly, you don't have to know how you're going to be received in order to show up.
So as you are in this moment, grounded in this space, just take one nice big deep breath in through
the nose.
Maybe hand on your heart, hand on your belly, if that feels good for you. Just remind yourself,
I'm here right now. I'm here in this moment.
I am with me.
I create safety within myself.
I create trust within myself.
And it is safe for me to be seen. Taking one nice deep breath in.
Letting those shoulders drop and exhale through the mouth.
That's our tapping practice for today. And if something came up for you while we were tapping,
I just want to remind you that you do not have to have it all figured out right now. Sometimes it
just needs to move through you. So being present and available for whatever shows up,
whether it's an emotion or whether it is just something that wants to be acknowledged, just let
your body process through it. And then breathe through it. Noticing over the next few days where
you might have the urge to pull back, to isolate, to hide, to maybe even overthink or make yourself
smaller. And instead of judging yourself, just simply become a bit more aware of where are you
being afraid to let yourself be seen. And then...
Ask yourself, what would it look like if I stayed with myself instead of pulling away or hiding?
Because the goal isn't to never feel vulnerable. The goal is to know that you do not have to
abandon yourself when you do.
So friend, thank you for being here. Thank you for tapping with me today.
